How much would you offer?

Here's the deal. Tomorrow I am going to looks at an 85 GSL with 62000mi. on it. Currently it is sitting with the rearend out of it because it went bad. I don't quite understand why they took the whole thing out, but they did. It is supposedly in excellent condition otherwise. It has bee sitting since last summer, and really hasn't been driven much in the past 10 years or so. They say they driven it a little each year to keep the seals from drying out, so it sound like they understand, atleast a little about rotaries. If it is as nice as they say, and they still have the rearend with it some were, what to you thing would be a fair offer.
On a side note she told me that if I don't plan on making a reasonable offer, don't bother even looking at it. What do you think?

That's what I figured I would offer if everything is prefect. My current car will become the parts car.

Are they going to repair and put the rear end back on the car for you or just hand it to you as is (presumably broken?)?

If they hand it to you as is I wouldn't offer more than $800 due to towing and repair fees in addition to your time and trouble.

If it was in really good shape, i would offer about $900.. cause its going to cost you AT LEAST $60 to tow it, and then your going to spend about a 100 to repair the rear end. But if its just okay shape. maybe 5 or 600.
