how much pressure....

how much fuel pressure can the stock nikkie absolutely take? is it possible that so much fuel could be getting run in there (if you're not regulating a high psi pump) that it somehow blocks the fuel from actually getting down in the motor??? the reason i ask is because i was loaned a holley 5psi pump and i just slapped it on there to see what would happen. it seemed that my car was starving for fuel with my busted stock pump, so we just wanted to experiment until i get my other stock pump this week. well, the holley was flowing quite nice and put the floats only a little over half way, but no crankage. i checked the plugs thinking they would be wet and they were bone dry. ???? any thoughts?

Spark + fuel =HP
Msd box + More fuel = More HP

The stock nikki on you car can flow maximum 1.16 quarts/min, with fuel pressure tops 4.7psi.

You will almost be able to take full avantage of you new pump as long as the injectors are in good working order.
Crank it up a little bit more.

Someones bound to say this so it might as well be me. More fuel doesn't equal more hp. More air combined with the correct amount of fuel equals more hp.

FBII, if you have too much pressure your carb will flood simple as that. It won't inhibit fuel flow in any way.

that's what i figured. i just wanted to prove that the carb couldnt handle that pressure no matter what. the guy that rebuilt it says it was possible. i can't bash him though, he didn an amazing job on the rebuild. i should have a stock fuel pump this week. THANK YOU CARL!!
