how much paint do i need for the 7
im going to paint the 7 in a few weeks and i dont know if 2 qts. of paint will be good ( about 2-1/2 qts after reducing) or do i need a gal.
i'm not doing the engine bay but im pulling the doors to do the jams. its going to be a single stage paint.
i dont want to spend more money then needed but i dont want to run out of paint ether.
so for people that have done this what do you think??
thanks.

Lets see, 5 rattle cans of primer, 7 rattle cans of white, 6 rattle cans of light met blue, and 2 rattle cans of black. Avg $6 a can = $120 and some tape which I purchased and applied too late + $15. Hey its cheaper than Maaco.

It depends on the quality of the job you intend to do. 2 quarts may be enough, but may not. If you are doing several coats and a color sand then clearing it, you'll probaly need more. Also depends on your paint skills and how smoothly and evenly you can overlay. As well as what setup your using to paint with and what pressure/volume. Much better to put on more thin coats than less thicker ones. So, I guess the answer to your question is yes, 2 quarts can cover your car, but whether it is enough to do so to your satisfaction is another thing. Good Luck! A good paint job is very satisfying, a bad one will haunt you till you repaint.

Double Ds for me to share
i'm rattle can paint jobbing my car. It's nothing more than a drag car so it doesn't have to be perfect...... Depends on what you want for a finish. Like guys said several thin coats is the way to go.

yes but you still need a good paint gun...... good ones cost money and spray bomb has one built in..... I have already painted my front bumper and turned out good.....
