How many turns on rear brake caliper piston?

Retracting rear pistons on 83 axle. Starting from
where the pistons sit when the caliper is rotated up away from disc I get maybe one turn clockwise where I can see the piston visibly moving into the caliper. Beyond that I can still turn the piston but retraction seems to stop. At this point the surface of the piston is maybe 1/16” poking out of the caliper. Should I be able to move the piston further in?

Fighting a dragging brakes after rear axle install…. Squeaky squeaky squeaky when off the brakes. Goes away when brakes applied. Handbrake is slacked off.

Silver part indicated by red arrow is amount piston projects from caliper.
