How Many Cylinders Box & Truth
I love how when I go to the tag office & there is a box for “number of cylinders" that must be filled out. Explain it to the city employee behind the window. I love the fact that I could say anything at that point & make it believable without being far from the truth. SE grin spreds over my face.
What do you tell them?

To answer the question based on the definition:
Cylinder: The chamber in which a piston of a reciprocating engine moves.
SO the answer would be ZERO.
If you want to count the number of chambers that are producing power the answer for your application would be 2.

Tandem Brake master (counts as two) + 4 calipers
Clutch master and slave
OMP
Ignition, hatch, 2 doors, 2 bins, glove box
16 Cylinders... Yo.
Actually, a local gas station was having a special. $20 per cylinder tuneups... The good kinda tuneups like I like to do:
Spark Plugs and wires
Distributor cap and rotor
Fuel, oil, and air filters + oil change + Chassis lube
PCV valve
Adjust ignition timing
Adjust valve lash (Yes, I know. Not necessary on the 7, but I do it on every other car the needs it.)
So I figure I'd just inquire about said free tuneup...
Mechanic: How can I help you sir?
Me: Yes. I'd like to inquire about the special you've got up in your window... $20 per cylinder.
Mechanic: Yes sir. That's still in effect till the end of the month.
Me: Well. normally, I'd do the work myself, but seeing as how you have it priced as such, I don't think I can do it for cheaper than free.
Mechanic: Come again?
Me: My car has no cylinders... $20 x 0 = 0.
Mechanic: How many spark plug wires does it have?
Me: Four... Mazda RX-7.
Mechanic: Then it's billed as a four cylinder, smart ***.
Me: But... But you don't have to do the valve job.
