How low can you go.
right now I have B&G springs with tokico illumina shox.
I might be getting a disc rear end and if I do I plan on changing all bushings to poly. along with the front.
the handling has tripled with the new springs and shox but I dont have the look I want. My rolling stock is kosie 15s with kuhmo 205/50/r15
heres what I want to do. yokahama paradas are offered in a 205/45/15 that brings it down a little.
+ get the adjustable springs for the front and the dead coils for the rear.
i just want to get the fender down to the tire. Im not looking to suck the tire under it.

You can get a 1st gen to be an inch lowered all around, lower up front with coil-overs. As far as the rears go any lower than an inch and your cars handling characteristics can be compromised, the trailing links bind ( you want snap oversteer?) when lowered too much and under hard cornering. People have lowered it more, sure but it isnt recommended unless you have a tri-link and panhard rod setup.
You can remove an extra dead coil on the drivers side spring to help level off your car if it has that infamous 1st gen low-left-rear.

im going to try it. Ill have the old springs to go back to if it doesnt work out.
I remember a post about coilovers in the rear. the guy that had them was running the back really low with the stock watts link. It was a autocross car. he said he was getting a panhard and further lowering the car.
so we'll see what happens

there is a local guy I auto-x with tht has rear coil overs on his 84 SE. He has the suspension set up killer!! a little to painfull for me to want to drive on the street though. He said the rear was at something like 450lbs for his spring rate. cant remember what the fronts were.

I bought my rear threaded spring perches and rear springs from ISC Racing Services in Florida. Perches were $90 pair and springs were also $90 pair if memory serves me. This was 3 years ago. The perches sit ONTOP of the spring, so they do NOT add to unsprung weight. Raising and lowering is as simple as turning the perch!!!!!!
Spring rates they had in stock:
125
150
225 (race only rate!)
I removed the stock rubber upper spring rests and could in fact hear the perches moving a tad. I did think 125 was too stiff for street especially with the 181 lb eibach pro kit progressive front springs i was using at the time;but that's just me. Other ppl go stiffer on the street, but their car is prolly heaver than mine too. Turbos, intercoolers, and other such nonsense.

I dont even think its going to be a issue any more.
i was just out working on removing the engine.
the car is close to where I want it there is only about a centimeter or less of gap. I have only had the B&G springs on there for a few months. I think there still settling. Ill see what the car looks like in the spring.
never had snap oversteer. except when its wet.
