97-98 the crash lost my old post and everything but my name and pasword, then sometime in 2002 that vanished and I had to rejoin with another name and a new start date. I think there have been several crashes through the years. at least not with my car though.

I joined in June of last year. I noticed that, at least a while ago, there were quite a few people that joined the same month. . . .

I'm 4945, but I was here before the crash too. In fact, I was on the Big List when the controversy over the starting of the Forum was raging. Around the same time, Jim LaBreck was harassing Jason over his signature claiming 360 RWHP and the excuses over not being able to produce the dyno sheet. Those were the days!

I continued participating actively on the Big List (email group) long after the Forum started and only came here once in a great while, until I fell way behind on the reading and something happened to my subscription. I never bothered to resubscribe to the Big List and then started visiting here a *little* more frequently...but still not that much. All these years and I only recently hit 1,000 posts (0.70 per day).

Ok, you've got my curiosity, what's the "Big List" you keep referring to?

thx

The 'Big List' was the email list that was the predominant mode of communication for RX-7 junkies at the time...there was no Forum in the early days. There are still several email groups out there, but I have no idea if the 'Big List" is still around. One day the emails stopped coming and I didn't bother to re-subscribe. The Forum was started by members of the Big List who thought it would be a good idea, but it was not at all a popular move. The Big List consisted of many of the Usual Suspects you see here today, like Jason, Ryan (BOOSTED7), Jim Labreck, etc. I joined in 1997. It was not unusual to get 200+ emails a day.

I joined just after the '98 crash...

There's only been one big one since then... I think it was march-april 2001.
Eveyone lost their post count and member number back then

No, the list has passed on. The other lists are all but gone too.
Hell, even Mazspeed is a shell of it's former self.
The forum is where it's at now...

I was on the list too, but not until after the forum was born...
Good to see a few "old school" guys still left besides me...

I had a different username here before the crash, but mostly lurked and not that often. Mazspeed was my home, and sadly yes they have had crashes and isint tha same. Many old time members are gone. I dunno if the big list is still around. I unsubscribed as I was getting too many emails that didnt pertain to 1st gens. Im still on the SA22C list.

I joined in 2003, but I've owned my 7 for 10 years and counting. The Cobra was supposed to replace the 7 but I love that car so much that I can't part with it!
