Angry How Long After You Paid A Forum Member For a Part Would You Wait Before Trashing Him?

So assume YOU paid me for a part that you need. We've exchanged a few emails and addresses beforehand and since, but I haven't replied to the past couple of PM's over the past week or so. I've had your money for nearly a month now and I told you I would send it over 3 Saturdays ago.

How long before my name is Hammered Dogshit all over this forum ?

Just curious

Well grimey old pal, id say ur name shoulda been brought up after the ship date was 1 week over due, adfter 2 weeks ur name should be recommended to the **** list, after 3 weeks, the name is ****. Now, there is the follow period. If withing 2 weeks after the 3rd week(5th week for those poor at math) he apologizes and gives extreme cirumstances for not shipping it, then the recommendor must remove thus persons name from the **** list.

Is this just a test? Or should it be moved to the good guy bad guy section?

Carl,

No, not a test, but wanting to know what most other members would do. Therefore, its a legitimate poll.

What I do with the results is what should to the GGBG section.

I voted one month--after that long there are no more valid excuses--then you owe it to all of us "good guys" to let us know who it is.

p.s. I've had nothing but great buys with everyone on the board, and I've also sold alot too.

One Month Total - Tops. I normally wouldn't wait that long - but it would be for the benefit of the doubt of another forum member.

Anything involving money and a transaction should be dealt with the utmost in responsibility.

After I give him money, I expect him to be just as diligent in getting it out to me. A few weeks I'd say.

I have bought and sold many parts on this site.

As far as selling is concerned, I get parts out in 1 or 2 days MAX, often the same day I gett the money. So there are no problems. I always go to the UPS store, and am supplied with a tracking number, which I email back.

As far as buying.

3 weeks is maximum for recieving a tracking number or proof of shipment. Their have been some changes to Paypal (which a lot of people use) and payments can take over a week.

but 1- 1.5 weeks is a good responce time.

after that, start bitchin

I've had my money dissapear before, It was amazing how fast the problem was cleared up when I posted the guys full name address, and any other info I had on him. All of a sudden his sick family member, vacation and other excuses dropped off the radar as he overnighted me my stuff.

I voted two weeks, but really, now that I think about it, a month. That's about how long the only thing I've bought on here got held back, and I wasn't TOO upset about it.

Talking Excuses are like ??????? everybodies got one and they all stink

2 weeks after the last excuse. Either he's got the parts, or he doesn't, if he sends you a legit tracking, or bill of lading (invoice from shipper) then he's golden, if not let the **** fly

i've done more selling then buying, and i make it a habit to not tell members(customers) i have a part to sell when i don't have the part in hand. i always tell the customer if a money order is sent that the part will be shipped upon when the mail arrives, same day depending on the mail. on my end the part(s) are crated ready to go. i believe good business is everything !! there realy is no excuse
if someone is selling parts to keep the customer waiting. i'm sure things happen in peoples lives where a shipment is delayed and most people are okay with the delay
but only if the seller talks to the customer and has a valid reason for the delay. not returning PM's/email is not good business and not even cool. i've been burned in the past and that makes me strive to keep up my end of the deal and ship the part(s) in a timely manner. i think members should check out the good guy/bad guy section often . again i thank all for your business.

I feel you should recieve it 7-10 days after the payment is recieved depending on the shipping choice. If the seller communicates there are issues, and is pro-active about contacting the buyer, then time can slip. One thing I can not stand, is, No Response! That shows that a person is lazy, and or a liar.

regards,
Chris

the one's i can't understand is the 'shops' that take orders for a part that is out of stock but don't bother to tell the customer(s) thier all out of such part(s). it goes a long way to be up front. instead of hoping to re-stock the inventory before a certain amount of time pass by. when buying from a 'shop' most people think the parts are in-house. but i can't stress enough how important it is to return PM's / and emails
from customers.

Well, the poll says a month. It is 3 days shy of a month.

I got a PM today saying the item has shipped. Good !

If I get the tracking info by Friday and get the item shortly thereafter ( coast to coast shipment of a 25? pound part ) I will report that here and it's over with. **** happens and then gets straightened out sometimes.

But if I don't, I will hang some shitty laundry here and then go to the GGBG and lounge areas to **** in all the corners and whine and complain and threaten and cajole and plot.

The forum has spoken... so it shall be done.
