How JDM is this? haha...Flat Black Wheels.

I know another member did this a short while ago, but I had the idea, before he posted it, so I hope no one thinks I'm a copy cat hehe. Great minds think alike. Here they are, the stock 4-spokes. I've only done the two rear wheels so far. I could make a step by step tutorial...who wants one? I think they look bad ***, and my car is white.

I think I'm gonna make a tutorial, I still have the 2 front to do, so I'll take pics of the process while I'm doing them. I'll give you a quick run down thou. I stripped off the stock clear, with paint stripper, than scuffed the wheels with 120 grit paper. I polished the lip, with 400-1000-2000grit paper, than used my dremel with compound to polish them. I masked off the lip, than used a zinc chromate primer on the wheels. Than finished them off with high heat (with ceramic) flat black. I also polished the "Mazda" casted into them

I know I need new tires, there are fried, they were fried when I bough the car. And you can "copy" me, Im not the first to do this as I mentioned. Im gonna make a tutorial, so I expect others to do it. Because it looks awsome, and costs about $30 and some elbow grease.

YES, you copied me They don't look bad. One thing you did not do that I highly recommend is that you thoroughly wash and scrub them with easy off oven cleaner and a wire brush to get any corrosion or debris/grease off. And, about your write up..I've been working on one for this since I posted my original thread. If anyone is looking for pics of this setup on car, check out my most recent thread. I am the 'originator' of the style

Well I removed the clear coat with paint stripper, so im pretty sure there was no grease under the clear coat haha. But I did wipe the wheels with menthol hydrate, to assure there was no debris/grease. I removed the clear, and sanded them, so there was no corrosion or dirt.
