How fast can a 1st gen go?
As you can probably guesse by my last post my car isnt running right now (82 w/12A) and i was wondering without porting the engine how fast could i possibly go?
I mean only things like intake man, big carb, header, straight through exaust....
I guesse my real question is what could an old 82 rx7 with that kind of stuff beat?

im not bridge port, i just have a small steet, and im lucky if i get 11 or 12 mpg.
*yes i know small street you may ask why small, why not go big, the person who sold me the motor did it, i needed a motor he had one for the right price*
i gave up on gas millage. buy a cheap civic for that. lol
on second thought thats posible, i do drive hard.

I got 14.6mpg average on my bridgeport. Wether you drive very hard or very light on the street/hwy.
Except race conditions were your consistence of full throttle is more like 8mpg because every second your not on the gas, you are braking. But people give bridgeports poor mpg results usually because they are driving it light. I find that I get 14mpg wether you drive light or hard, so drive hard all the time. The milage is fixed due to the overlap to some extent.

Hmm, mabye i should just do the intake and exaust then slap a 50 shot of NOS on the motor.
i think that would be probably the most gass efficent way, unless NOS and rotarys dont mix for some reason. you tell me.

I have to say ..if you plan on pushing nice HP numbers...you got to be ported or some type of forced induction,BUT You should still be ported, its like tring to blow through a coffe straw..if your not ported with forced induction.

I have someone that will tune the carb for me, as for how deep my pockets are, pretty deep.
I was thinking that mabye a 50 shot of NOS. i dont know how much nos could i safely run with a 12a motor?
and as for how fast, i just want to be able to run with mustangs, not beat them, just run with them.

My car gets 36mpg on the street, makes approx. 476.3hp and runs in the mid-9's all motor. It will run high 7's when Im sprayin' my 1000 shot of Naaaas!!! I'm gonna cut my muffler off tommorow which will free- up another 352hp and i'll be boostin my MPGeez to like 50mpg! With all this extra power, I am gonna have to bolt another wing to my existing 4ft tall wing. I figure a 7ft wing should give me enough down force to prevent me from launching into orbit. Will I have problems going through the Taco Bell drive through??
sorry, i'll shut-up now. but seriously, my car averages 19mpg, factory carb, DLIDFIS, RB exh, FIERO fan (ahh yeah!)

i believe you get the speed you want with out the nos.just put a street port and a holley 600 vacume secondaries.you should be able to get 15-20 miles per gallon.i had a 12a street port with delorto carb in a datsun 1200.i got about 22 miles per gallon and ran 12.4 1/4 with 438 gears.you should be able to run low 13's no problem about if tuned right in a rx7.with out nos.and later you could always add it.
