ive heard some people say 2 degrees is safe and ive heard some say up to 7 1/2 is safe. what have you found yields the best results, and won't be dangerous to the engine?

I don't go by that scale. Mainly because my idle rpm never settles to the same place twice. You may not have that problem, but for me and the other people who do, we adjust our timing based on full advance above 4000rpm. Mine is set to 20º L and 10ºT BTDC.

RacingBeat recomends 2º leading and 19º trailing at idle for 79-83 engines and the stock settings for '84-'85 12A's. I've tried more radical approaches, but I always seem to come back to these RB specs.

I have mine set to RB spec for my GSL-SE. It's either 5 or 7.5 degree advanced.

Definitely the best way to go.

Be very cautious about advancing any more than this, a few of us have broken spark plugs doing this. I broke 3 plugs this summer running the Yaw settings, definitely not worth the minimal gains you might see.

I dont think it's on their site. You'll have to buy the catalog .
