How do you remove the window crank?

Is there some sort of trick to removing the window crank? When I try to pry it off, the door panel flexes so I can't really get anything to push against.
Been working on this thing for about an hour....can't get it off!

first you have to remove the cap in the center. there is one phillips screw behind that cap. next, you need a special forked tool to "pop" the clip off that holds the crank to the gear. i've got a rag in there and worked it back and forth and popped the clips years back before i had the proper tool. the proper tools are SUPER cheap to buy and i reccomend buying one. just make sure you work around the crank 360 degrees until you find the spot that the clip sits in.

With a light, look behind the crank at the clip. Position the handle so the clip's tang ends are pointed down. Take a rag/shop cloth/edge of your shirt, and slip it behind the handle and pull upwards on the edges (make a "V" with the handle at the bottom). Pull the ends of the cloth back and forth and the clip will pop right out.
