How do you do it?

Ok i already read all the other threads on the six port actuators and none of them give u a "step by step how 2" on how to keep the 5th and 6th ports open. and most of the post are on 2 gen rx7 wich i dont need i need to know how to do this in a 1st gen rx7 the SE model that came with the fule injected 13B. im not sure if the ports actuators work the same way, but i know mine is are activated by exaust gas back pressure, and im not sure how the second gen is activated. i want to do this to make sure my engine is running at its full potential when i pull up on unsuspecting victims. but i dont have the air pump or the line hooked up to the cat that make them open automatically so i think that right now they are not opening at all. So i would apreciate any help thanks.

You'd be better off repairing what you need to repair. Having them open all the time will reduce your torque at lower rpms.

I'm pretty sure that that is correct information, but wait for someone else to confirm it since I have no direct experience with the system. Good luck.

S3 and S4 aux ports work the same and the actuators are interchag4eable. If you are running headers, you can plumb a new back pressure feed pipe in for less than 10 bucks worth of parts from the plumbing dept. at the hardware store.

The link has a pic of how I have done them on S3s and S4s, works quite well. Tap the header for a 1/8" NPT, copper tube is is the smallerst they sell, same line used for ice makers on a a fridge.

the thing is that i dont want to fix anything i like the way the car is running right now and dont want to hook up the air pump or the line from the headders. i just want a way to keep them oppen all the time so i can have all available horsepower i dont care about bottom end loosing tourque at low rpms i dont care. my 7 lives in high rpms so i just want a reliable way to keep them open . and know that they are working.
thanks

If you want em open the whole time then I would remove the sleves completely. Ive read about people wiring the actuators open but unless I missed a trick its easier said than done. I tested my actuators to make sure they still worked by removing the hose from the exhaust (RB silencer comes with actuator line/venturi) and blowing low psi air thru the line (<5 psi). With a quick puff the actuators should snap open and stay open until the pressure is released. I tried presurizing and plugging the line but that didnt work to keep them open after driving around. I think my actuators stopped working due to a vac leak Im going to address soon. Im taking my intake off so Im considering removing the sleeves when I do that.

Seems to me, you'd want that low end torque unless you're pulling up to "unsuspecting victims" at 4k rpms on the highway.

Don't remove sleeves

If you want to wire them open, then do so.

However - DO NOT take out the sleeves, if you do, the air will flow in the port and smack the "hole" where the end of sleeve used line up flush. This will significantly reduce air velocity...N/A enemy.

If anything, leave the sleeves, wire the ports open, and fit a pair of Pineapple Racing sleeve inserts.

Sounds good ya?
