How do you all mount your e-fans to your rad?
I did a search but didn't find anything.
When mounting an e-fan, how do you go about attaching it to your rad? Obviously it woudn't normally mount right up, being from a different car, and my Taurus fan is no exception. Just wonder how you did it.

i thought that you needed to keep the original fan shroud in order to apply the electric fan..thats what other members on the board had told me over and over again,

i am about to mount mine, hopefully today. it is out of a 91 tempo.
peccas, i also wondered why people would say to use the stock shroud. i found that most people use the electric fan shroud (as it usually comes built in to it) but i guess that there are e-fans out there without them?!
i am going zipties all the way!

ok, just my two cents but, if your stock fan is having clutch problems i would change it, but its everything is fine, i left mine the way it is. because first the power gains are completely un noticable, the only real gain is less noise. second the ammount of current those things suck up are pretty good, especially if you have a stereo and and driving with fog lights and head lights. lastly I would definatly use the stock shroud, because it allows air to flow through the rad much better if you notice of the e-fan's shroud there are flat plateaus on the cornors and on the right edge. When using the e-fan shourd my coolant temperature was much higher than using the stock shroud, especially on the hiway.
Just my two cents, I threw my e-fan in the garbage, and now my coolant is back to being very cool

Mounting a Taurus fan cleanly:
Use the little mounting tabs for the stock shroud with the bolts removed (red arrow). Line up the e-fan shroud, mark were the tabs are and cut two small slots. The e-fan lip (green arrow) will slide behind and the tabs should fit tightly in teh slots you cut. That side is secure (and tight to the rad for good air flow). One the otherside, drill two holes in the rad bracket. This is much much easier with the rad out, but can be done with it in using a 90º drill. Make sure to put a piece of metal between the rad core and bracket... don't blame me if you drill into your rad!! Secure that side with two short self-tapping sheet metal screws.
It's more work, but looks a lot cleaner then zip ties.
Who has been saying to use the stock shroud? There are aftermarket fans that come without their own and you have the stocker.
