Only 84 and 85 Model years had the 13B stock.. Even then, only the GSL-SE had them...

You probably have an S or little optioned GS...

It may have one that someone added, but theres no way to know unless you pop the hood.

The stock engine, a 12A, would be listed in the VIN...

Well, first off the 13B wasnt an option until 84 when the GSL-SE came out. Although someone may have transplanted it into the car. The first telltale sign of a 13B is that *most* are fuel injected. I've never seen an N/A fuel injected 12A. Secondly take a look at the block, it should have a stamp on it telling you which it is.

Stand on the drivers side of the car with the hood open, look at the middle side of the engine to the left of the oil filter and if it's a 12A it'll say 12A. Not sure bout a 13B never seen one dem

Okay, I was looking at the racing beat website and for the 82 they had 12a headers and 13b headers. I guess the 13b one are for a swap,

Thanx

it would be stamped on the block to the left and right of the oil filler neck on the alumn. rotor housing ( 12A or 13B ) I would say there is a noticable power increase between them. I am fortunate enough to have both and I enjoy the 13B more!
