How to change fuel filter

I'm having minor sputtering issues so I ran some seafoam through my tank to help clear it up. It helped a little but now I figure its best to change the fuel filter. Problem is, I haven't done one on an rx7 yet. I figure I pull the regulator and run it til it dies, but idk where the regulator is. I guess worst case scenario I could clamp up the fuel lines and do it ghetto style but I'd rather do it right. I searched for a how to and couldnt find squat. Something I'm missing?

Just find your fuel filter and put a new one on. Don't mess with the regulator.

There are 3 stock filters on my 85 SE one on the pick up tube in the tank, one "can" style just behind the fuel pump, and one on the inlet of the fuel pump. Check all 3 if your in doubt all 3 of mine were f'ed

Just did it. Took like 4 minutes. You were right qingdao hella easy. 3 filters though? Wow that's some overkill lol. I only saw the one. I have an aftermarket fuel pump (don't remember the name atm, pretty common swap from what I've seen though. Oh and I don't want to hear about how I was just next to the fuel pump and can't remember the name) anyway would having. Different fuel pump effect how many filters I have? It came with the car so maybe po did a delete because there was just the small filter from what I saw. Then again I wasn't necessarily looking for another filter. Maybe its just a se thing. I wonder about the in tank though. I'm not really up to pulling the tank off for something that might be (probably is) bad tonight.

meh... there is kinda a sock/nylon mesh pre-filter at the fuel pump pickup tube in the tank... like virtually every other EFI pickup filter (which doesnt really ever plug) and then there is the easy as ***** filter in front of the rear LCA's, which is the only one to ever really be concerned with changeing semi-regularly

your good

Weight reduction, less sketchy than a metal one if I get rear ended, and I'm getting a brand new tank basically for free. Why not is a better question.
