How to bypass the audio mixer
Maybe I missed this in the audio section, but I recently got a '84 GS which came with a radio without the little fader **** by the shifter and power window switches. I used to have a '85 GSL and I took the GSL radio which has it, but rather use the fader on the radio itself and bypass that annoying ****.
I know there are a couple plugs for the rear main amps that plug into the fader **** and I took the plug wire that goes to the stereo back to them. I connected that to the right amp only. Is there a Y-plug on some models that will connect both rear amps up? Is this making any sense to anyone.
Should I not waste time and just get a MP3 player/stereo instead, but I want to use the stock radio for a while till its warm enough out so I will feel like installing a new stereo.

If I were you I'd just rip all that **** out and put in a real system. I was in your shoes last year around this time, and ended up doing my while system in the driveway over christmas break with temperatures in the 30's, that was fun. not. Oh well, don't be ghetto, do it the right way and solder everything too. I know that doesn't really help you but, thats what I would do.

I hear what everyone is saying, just don't like to buy all that crap, like the fitting plate and the $200+ radio that I want with MP3 and good Wattage from it. I will install it, I won't let the jokers at Bestbuy touch my car!! ..idiots would probably scratch up my pride and joy!!
