what is the max tire size on the gen 1 the tire size that will fit comfortable and no rub

I'll assume you're talking about the stock 13x5.5's on the S, GS, and GSL. I believe that I've heard the largest tire size that will fit comfortably is 205/60 R13. A great resource is www.1010tires.com. They have a tire sizing chart that tells you what tire/rim size combos will fit within the +-3% standard tolerance.

i run 205/50 on the rear no problem and you can go wider with wider wheels 205 is the max.

205/50R13 is the STOCK size in the UK so they should fine on your 7
