HOW TO: 1984 GSL Fuel Filter Replacement Video!!
Hey everyone, replaced the fuel filter on the FB recently, and wanted to give a very brief walk through, and then a video to help out anyone who may need it!!
I got the filter from autozone for around $8
The filter is located on the driver side in front of the rear axle
It is held in with 2 hose clamps and 2 wire brackets
Start by popping it out of the brackets and let it hang (it won't go far)
Now you'll want 2 vice grips to clamp both sides of the hoses gently (1 will work too, just clamp the inlet side first as to not pour gas on yourself)
Then remove the hose clamps and pop out the old filter (if you are doing 1 side at a time because you only have 1 clamp/vice grip just pop out the inlet side and keep the old filter elevated)
Pop in both sides of the new filter, it has a directional arrow so that you know which way the flow goes! (or pop in the inlet side, and move your clamp to the outlet side to finish removing the old filter and then pop in the outlet on the new one)
Replace the hose clamps
Push the new filter into the bracket
Check for any leaks!!
