Houston, we have a problem.

Well, I might be out of the subwoofer enclosure business for a while, as well as the Sebey projects I had going.

My fiancee's ex had done some plumbing for our upstairs bathroom a while back. We finally got the bathroom done, and connected the plumbing, and lo and behold:

FLOODED BASEMENT.

Thanks alot, *******. That's what happens when you dabble in something you should let a pro do.

I just lost about, oh, $1500 in power tools, not to mention the destruction of ALL of my MDF, etc. Plus, we lost two A/Cs, a spare computer, probably our washer and dryer, etc. I was up until 5 a.m. dealing with the flooding, and we had to call in the professionals to do it, it was just too much work.

The insurance adjuster will be here tomorrow or the next day, so hopefully in the next 10 ******* years, I'll get all the stuff replaced. I don't know how many of my car parts I had down there are ruined, and I doubt the insurance will cover all that stuff.

Those of you who paid for subwoofer enclosures, PM me if you want a refund or if you want to keep waiting. Those of you who were buying parts, they are all probably shot, I haven't had a chance to check, so I'm probably not going to sell anything at all.

Anyway, that's about that.

************.

The only good news is, the barn/garage we're building will be coming along in the spring. The land is getting cleared soon, we might be able to get the foundation in before winter. So, soon I'll have my own workspace strictly for car stuff.

see this is a great example of an excelent business man, unlike mny of the other people who hav problems while selling, he told us. and offered a refund, many people would just not return phone calls or messages, and then two months later the package arives. thanks for setting a good example.

There were lots completed, but I wasn't happy with them, so they ended up in the landfill. Production is now stalled, as almost all of my power tools were ruined this morning, along with a lot of the supplies to make them.

Bummer Deal Man!! Sorry for your losses. Hope you can get your stuff replaced from the insurance people.

Guess its time to fire up the 'ol thinker and get to designing my own box. Not a bad thing, I need to stimulate my mind. Haha.

And I just went down to the basement, and it leaked again. Luckily, I caught it while it was small, but most of the **** that was put into new boxes by the flood company just got wet again. Luckily, they're coming back tomorrow to check on it, so they'll re-re-box it.

****, ****, ****.

On a side note, thanks everyone for the positive thoughts, I appreciate it.

On a different note:

Against my own judgement, - I installed a plain old Bazooka 8" tube with my cheapo Sony Amp - and I couldn't be happier with my bass.

Bazooka tubes usually suck, but with the shape of the FB rear hatch - the bass is impressive for its small (and removable) size.

Plain old Bazooka 8, non amplified, as I already had a little 5 channel amp. Total cost - Less than 80 bucks shipped. When strapped to the very back of the hatch, it's practically invisible too.

I DEFINATELY recommend it.

This is what I did in my CRX. Works great. (IF you are ever in the Bryan/College Station area, I would be glad to let you check it out) My only concern with the FB is that there isn't a cover that could easily be put over it.

I hope that you get the basement mess figured out. Will Flood insurance cover something like this?
