Sorry for slamming the board with questions, but engine goes back in this weekend and first time I have attempted an engine rebuild. On the air cleaner, wanted to confirm what hose goes where, and what the attachment point 3 goes to?. Haynes manual diagrams are not clear. California car, 1981 12a FB. All original (I think). Answer as if I know nothing with photos if poss as total beginner here and some technical terminology will be lost on me.
1. Idle compensator. To rats nest as shown as a vertical purple in vacuum hose routing diagram pic attached..
2. To top of air pump.
3. Dont know what this one is and where it should connect to. Help!
4. To intake manifold.
5. I know where this one goes. Nothing needed here.

number 3 goes directly to the coasting/shutter valve

using your provided diagram, if you're saying 1 is the idle compensator, then it would appear that 3 is probably going to the coasting valve, no?

Got it. Found the coasting valve, and found the old vacuum hose that used to connect to it. Perfect fit from coasting valve to air cleaner. Thanks folks!
