What is your application? street, drag race, or road race?
What do the rules allow?
What is your budget in dollars?

What kind of porting does your engine have?

the answers to these questions can help us steer you in the right direction based on your needs

FI, just because you don't have to friggen screw with it all the damn time. And holley's suck for corners. I have one, I HATE it with a PASSION. Sterling will be hooking me up soon.

Weber, cheaper than FI, less than half the cost of a stand alone, comparable with the holley in price, but will corner 4 times better than a holley.

weber will corner way better than the holley, buy the holley will give you 1-2 more hp through the power band in a straight line or on the dyno, where as the weber will give you maybe 1-2 more peak hp.... Fuel injection will do all of that and more just it costs alot more and doesn't hace any carrictor(sp?)

Like the others said. Holley's suck when cornering. Weber are good and affordable. FI is the best if you can afford it.

Holley's are fine for cornering with nitrophyl floats and jet extensions.

Nothing can beat a good EFI set up, but very expensive and needs to be tuned correctly. My friend has a 86 13B Street port 6 port and he is pushing close to 250hp with a MicroTech set up!

Holley's are the cheapest and give good power, but are not easily tuned, because you can only change jets. Cant change air bleeds, emulsion tubes and what not.

Weber's are expensive and not as plentiful as Holley's, but you can tune everything on them!

I have heard of a guy who had both, Holley and Weber on the same engine and his drag times were faster with the Holley, but I dont know how good he had either one tuned?

I have a 4 port J Bridge and a holley 650 from holley. I dont have any problems with it...proper tuning is vital on a holley,if not all you hear is people complaining about how holleys suck.Ive used both Holley and weber including dellortos, and i stuck with holley.

I use Holley's, but if had the cash would use EFI ! ! !

My Holley 600 ran a 9.5 in the 1/8th with basically a stock port! The port was a crap street port (the port looked like some one tried to smooth out the closed side of the intake port with a file) and the exhaust was ported. What a joke street port job ! ! !

Nice work ! ! ! Really nice work ! ! !

But why do you run the leading coils through the dist? and why no cold air intake? Intercooler cools it off good enough?

Im new to Rotarys but in american V-8s this discussion still angers people, I work for GM, and have plenty of Holleys and Webers...Truth is, if you cant tune a carb dont buy a holley, Holleys will deliver more power than a weber but are wishy washy. They may run good today and not tomorrow if you cant tune one up. Where as you can tune Holley air bleeds, its called indexed drill bits. But then again Webers are more forgiving and more tuneable to a shade tree. I run Holleys on all the motors ive built for myself, but many of me friends use webers (edelbrock) but ill stick with holleys
