Holley vs. Nikki compatibility..?

Is the intake to carb pattern for the 84-85 Nikki the same as a Holley..?

I ask b/c I would like to know if I order a nitrous kit for a holley is the plate a bolt on fit for my Nikki..?

Thanks.

Not a chance in hell

Racingbeat sells manifolds to mount holleys, but Nikkis don't fit on them.

The stock manifold won't fit a holley

You're basically looking like you'll have to either buy a holley and manifold, or make an adapter.

Besides, NOS is for civic ricers.

That's a bit ignorant. Nitrous is a legitimate power adder just like forced induction or anything else. Plugs calling it NOS instead of nitrous, n2o etc. makes you more of a ricer.

I just want it for the top end of the 1/4. I go through the traps in third at almost redline at 85ish mph. I'd rather be going through in fourth say 100mph. I'm thinking a safe 50 shot for starters. I have alot of other things to attend to first, but I'm getting tired of my brother rolling his eyes everytime I tell him I'm coming after his Camaro.

Can anyone throw out some ideas on setting up my nikki for nitrous and how... It runs so good I'd really rather avoid changing carbs again...

Not true! I seen many guys mount a holley 600 on a stock 12a intake with some minor mods.

you can fab up a holley spacer to the stock nikki manifold and then port match. it works.... but with varied success.

that nitrous comment was rather ignorant indeed, there are plenty of high performance vehicles which include nitrous as a part of their power

I went to a local carshow / swapmeet and there was this guy selling some rotary parts... He had a 12A manifold with some fresh porting done to it, and he told me it was an intake for a Holley Carb... I was like, but that is a stock Mazda 12A mani, and he then said well it is made to fit a Holley. So after further talking I could tell he didn't do it himself and wasn't tooo sure, but I should of bought the friggin thing anyway since it was only $20, at least to find out b/c now my interest has definatly been sparked.

"NAWSS!" is for ricers who want to "blow the welds on their intake" or shoot blue flames out their "motec system exhaust"s. Nitrous oxide is a serious component of many high performance race cars. Oh and if you want to use it on a Nikki carb with stock intake check out the Nitrous Oxide Systems (i spell it out so people know i mean the company) "Top Shot" system. The smallest jet it comes with is for a 75 shot but you could buy a 50. It just mounts in the middle of the air cleaner assembley and jets the N20 and fuel down through the carb. Probably the easiest set up out there.

PS. I've heard that although the rotary responds well to nitrous injection the extremely low temperature of it if used often can damage the apex seals. Can anyone verify this?

nitrous and rotaries honestly go hand and hand just as well as turbos do. if i could go back to before i started my turbo project... i may have just went with the juice. there is a fellow here that runs 120shot on his stock port high mileage 13b 4port. fast as hell and drives it everyday. once i met him, i was thinking.... "WELL FUUUUCK!". altho, benefits to both.. don't buy the hype that nitrous is bad for rotaries.

all custom bro... there isn't a company that i know of that makes it. just get the holley 4 barrel spacer and take it to someone who can weld aluminum.... have him weld it on there and port match everything.

You sure it wasn't a Racing Beat Holley manifold?

Yes... Absolutly positive. It was a 12A mani.

I'm going to have two adapter plates made, (if this turns out to be the route I go) One to mount the Mazda intake to the Holley nitrous plate and then the holley nitrous plate to the Nikki carb... Shouldn't be too hard... same plate made twice and just flipped.

Sorry, I'm absolutly positive it was a stock MAZDA (not RB) 12A manifold.

Like I said before, its been done many times with a stock intake. Not the prettiest set up but it works!

Well I picked up a Holley 600 w/a Racing Beat intake. So that should make this alot easier, although I love the way my YAW nikki feels... responsive, pulls hard. I hope the Holley is the same.

Anyone here have any experience with running N20...?
