are you wiring it into the car or by itself? i think that decision will make a difference, because the current draw of the Holley pump may be more that the stock wires can handle and you may either end up popping fuses left and right or be in for a terrifying surprise if something goes awry with the pump.

i would like to revamp the wiring for my Carter pump setup. i want to use a relay instead of a fuse, but i'm just trying to figure out the best ignition source to use as a switch (so i can eliminate the toggle that i am currently using or maybe just use it as an extra security measure.) however, right now, i first need to solve my oil cooler problems, but whenever i get all of this straightened out, i can pass on the info if you would like.

ditto, holley red on stock wiring. no probs at all. i did run some slightly thicker wire from the pump to the fuse box, but haven't noticed any difference. i was just bored and had some wire to spare.

My problem is I have no clue what size fuse to run it on. The previous owner cut the harness in several places, and of course swiped the orig fuel pump and harness.
The Napa pump I have now is running to the fuse panel via 12 ga wire with a 3.5 amp fuse and a 30 amp toggle switch. What size is stock?

have no experience running upgraded fp with stock motor, but have read and heard from a few that it is recommended and that there is a noticeable difference in upper rpm's. not night and day, but noticeable
