Holley Red or Blue ? When ?

I have a Holley red and it works fine on the ported 13B w/ Mikuni @ 4psi. It is noisy as hell, though ( my only complaint ).

Will the red be sufficient if/when I go to a 650 and Supercharger ? Do I go to blue at that time ? Is the blue quieter than the red ?

Is there a good QUIET brand or model that replaces blues and/or reds for either application ?

Your experienced opinion is appreciated.

Actually yes, there is a quiet fuel pump that pushes good flow

I'm running a Mallory Comp 70 (6psi, 70gph) and the reason that I got it specifically was because it's so quiet that you can't hear it at all when the car is on (and I have stock exhaust). Now the Comp 70 might be a little small for bigger applications, but that's why the 70 is the smallest pump you can get from Mallory! (It's actually listed as a "marine" pump). The Comp110 is used by some folks around here, and it works great with a good regulator too.

"a 650 and a supercharger"... you mean a Holley 650? If so, yeah the Mallory Comp 110 will probably do you fine.... I've never done a carbed supercharged setup before though, so you'll have to take someone else's word on that.

All I can say is that I like the Mallory. Nobody (not even rotary nuts) can tell I'm running an aftermarket fuel pump until I pop my hood and they see the pressure regulator mounted to the firewall And even the Comp70 has more than enough fuel-pushing ability to feed my Rx7Carl/Sterling carbed 12a.

well, i like the sound of a holley blue. it is loud, but sufficiant for a suppercharger. i do think a holley red is enough for what you want also. i've heard good stuff about the mallery's also.

holley red is more than sufficient. be sure to use flip-flop sandals or a thick rubber spacer to minimize the noise.

A holley blue will work fine. My dad has one on his chevelle, which has a 454 (8.3!)L, with a 671 blower and dual 650s. I think it will work with your 1.3L and a 450. It is noisy though.

Holley blue will have too much pressure and will require a good regulator with a return. In summary will require more $$$
