Holley Carb Jets/Fuel Pump wiring

Just picked up an '83 S with a holley (racing beat) and mallory fuel pump (the one that racing beat sells as well). Pump was always running with key set to accessory and also running non stop with car running. I re routed the pump to get its power from the stock coil power wire and the same result occurred (the instructions from mallory show this to be the proper wiring). I am trying to figure out how to wire it so as if I were to ever get in an accident or if there was a fire...the pump is set up the safest.

Also, does anyone know the stock jet size for the racing beat holleys they sell for the 12a?

Assuming its really an RB, and a stockport, your main jet size should be 49, and it uses an 8.5 power valve. Secondary side isnt exchangeable so you're fine there.

On the fuel pump, i'd just hook it back up the way the stock fuel pump was wired. It should be always running with the car running too, btw.

Long story short I tried the 50s for jets and it was terrible. I have yet to look into the power valve, but do have the 8.5. The car also came with the msd ignition with a third gen coil pack running the leading ignition. I have no knowledge on how these are setup or supposed to be setup or more specifically...how the timing is supposed to be set with this ignition
