holley 650

kay

I've found a holley 650 carb for sale for about 100 AU
i have a (series 1) 13b n/a... with a stock carb (i think?)
later on I'd like to do a blow through turbo setup....

If i was to attach the 650 now

1. would it work? (or work well)
2. would there be much fabrication needed?? or isit just a bolt on job??

my tech knowledge is very limited so any help would be great.... Thanks heaps

- Ben

bolt on, but you will need a good fuel pump and jet it properly. and when you go turbocharging, pressure seal it and get an even beafier fuel pump and a mallory fuel pressure regulator

haha
yeah funny thing is i have no idea if my motor is 4 or 6 port

ok then what do you guys think.... i've seen quite a bit of info saying that 650 is good for blow throughs..... how about n/a.... do you think go smaller? and keep the smaller one for the blow through.... or do you think go too big now and correct for turbo (later on )

BTW is the fuel pump on series 1 an in tank pump???
if not could i use a second hand 8 cyl pump or similar??

thanks again

im guessing go with the bigger carb for turboing...your going to be needing alot more fuel, and the bigger carb can hold more CFM and fuel in the floats. and while your n\a just jet them down. well if its a 13b the carb. was put on there, so its not stock. but why would you even go with a holley? the motor isnt ported or anything so you can just trick out the carb. your using now and do the same thing and save money. you only really need a holley when its port and you will be needing more fuel. stock carb. should handle the duties just fine

my car is quite evil on fuel, and i've been told that is because it is prolly a 12a carb.... if i can find my digi camera i'll take some piccies of my engine bay.... (if that helps)

the reason why im going for a holley

1. found some for quite cheap
the person is even selling 750's for $100 AU
2. have heard that they're good for turo setups
from what has been said on this forum
