History in the Selling....

Came across this, thought someone might be interested. A bit pricey, but if I had the $$ I'd be in my garage.

History: The prototype first appeared at the Tokyo Motor show in 1964. The first production prototype car was shown in 1966. The car was developed specifically for Mazda’s version of the NSU Wankel engine. Planned more as a test platform than for mass production, it was intended for the Japanese market only. The cars were made in right hand drive only. This Series II car was purchased new by a US Air Force U2 pilot stationed in Japan. He subsequently imported the car to the US and kept it in excellent condition for 30 years. There are 6 Cosmo 110S’s in the US. This is the only Series II model in the country.

Production: A total of 1519 cars were built. (343 series 1, 1176 Series II). The Series II was far superior with 18 extra horsepower, adding 10 mph to the top speed, 5-speed gearbox, 15-inch instead of 14-inch wheels, servo assist brakes, revised front valance and the wheelbase extended by 6 inches to allow for larger seats and more interior room.
