High Temp Lower RPM

Ok when my temp is righ ton the Mark for runnign temp my idle is aroun 900. As my temp passes that mark, by small ammounts, my idle becomes increasingly lower. Infact today, it stalled. It was not overheating, the mark was less than a cm past the running temp mark. But my idle just went down and down and down. Now if i drive the car at hight speeds nad cool it down my idle will come back to 900 but once its warm its back down. anyone know how to fix

High speed= good temp
Low speed/idling = temp rise means your fan is not pulling enough air thru the radiator. Either the fan clutch isint working right or your missing shrouding allowing air to bypass the radiator. At speeds above 30mph, the fan becomes useless as the impinging air is enough to keep the engine/radiator cool.

Couldnt say for sure. Fix the temp rise problem and see what happens. Well I'm working on a carb that flows more, which should be suited for that. However the Sterlingcarb will work for you too. The biggest problem you'd have will be a proper manifold.

Not sure you'll get an answer on a thread that is 9 years old. You had to dig to find this.

On my SE, I was having a problem with vapor lock when at low speeds. Heat would build up under the hood and cause the car to stall. Part of the problem is that the injectors are between the intake and the motor. I ended up wrapping the fuel lines under there with heat tape. I also had to replace the cat because they were clogged and building extra heat.
