high speed noise

When I get my 82 gsl up to about 45, i get loud noise (not constant, loud then it fades, loud and fades etc...) and vibration from underneath (around the area of where your feet rest-both sides) At about 75-80 it becomes more of a drone? I replaced the u-joint, but that didn't seem to help, any ideas?

brand new tires, it's coming, the noise, from the drivetrain. What could, be causing it?

i guess it could be, but the sounds are continuous, low than high, just at the higher speeds 45 and up. could the shaft be out of blance?

is your car stock? i know that this doesnt apply to most street cars, but a racer that my dad and i know had this problem. he tried different wheels and a bunch of other things. he ended up changing to a 2-piece drive shaft which i guess changed the harmonics of the vibration and that did it.

other than that, my guess would be the shaft is out of balance.
