Hi, picked up a kickin' deal

Hi everyone, I picked this baby up for $200 earlier this week. She needs work, but I couldn't pass up this deal. 1980 4 speed, looking to get it going and then modify from there.

Don't worry though, I'm not new to forums and have been looking through the search and archives. I know how y'all like photochops, so if you like this then p.m. me.

Welcome to the forum and the Darkside. You'll have fun with your SA. I didn't like the body style for the longest time, but that old school look keeps growing on me. In my sig line are some helpful links, including one to the online FSMs, carb manual and other rotary related reading. Download whatever you need and read read read.

I didnt care much for the body style either when i got my se7en. I still dont realy like the rear end, but with a nice wing or body kit it looks better.

It's an aquired taste. To me the FB front just looks like someone just put a bumper over the SA steel one.

Thumbs up

Rusty,

That looks like a LS model? If so it should have a 5 speed.

welcome to the forum Rusty!! i'm inquiring as to what the chrome badges read on the b-pillars. for reference, the car is NOT by any means a Leather Sport. i do like the color though. on the right side of the firewall, there will be a vin plate with a color code. what does the color code read?

Sorry to bring this up from the grave, my god you guys post a lot in a week. I just got back from Alaska and today I got this rusty junk running great on starter fluid and a new battery. It hasn't been driven in 7 years and was last registered 11 years ago.

I've already bought a carb kit (the good one from what I can tell) and some other parts. The engine sound is really neat, I'm postive I've been consumed by the darkside.

The original color was Marine, someone had the idea that golden moose nugget was a better color. It's also a 4 speed. Seats are brown but the interior is black. Anyways thanks for the compliments.
