Hi performance brakes?

I was wondering what kind of brakes you guys use.

This is for a 12a with 4 wheel discs.

Thanks!

Hawk HP+ Pads help alot on the stock brake system. You get better pedal feel with less slop from Stainless Steel lines.

If you want anything other than that, like slotted/crossdrilled rotors, bigger rotors and calipers etc... you're going to have to do some major work to change over, probably going with a different bolt pattern and everything... 'cause most big brake kits aren't "made" for our cars, we just make them work on our cars.

I used to run RP's stock size brake performance kit on my car(Brembo X-drilled rotors,Bonez pads,SS lines) and it stopped very well,a few times. After that fade would start to set in.The stock rotors are just too small. For increased brake leverage and fade resistance,GSL-SE brakes are a good choice and will cure the funky lug pattern problem that plauges our cars.SE rotors are reasonably larger and will bolt right up to 84-85 cars with no mods.Older cars will require a spindle swap.
For all out stopping power and consistancey(fade resistance) you cant beat some 12" rotors and TII calipers up front.Selectmaz and CP both make kits for our cars, but it aint cheap.SE brakes and a good set of tires is all most street cars need.

I was looking at those. So they have positive feedback, good.

How much did you pay for them and where did you buy them? I would be looking for a set of all 4.

i think EBC pads and some decent brake fluid make a huge differance with just stock rotors.

Go with HPS (Street) and not HP+ unless you don't mind a LOT of brake dust on your wheels.

I originally ordered the HPS pads front and rear, but was shipped the HP+. Thinking that they'd work fine with my new X-drilled rotors (stock), front and rear, I soon learned that they dust horribly.

You can't drive 5 miles after a fresh wash without being able to wipe away a bunch of brake dust from your wheels. HTH,

essentially any carbon pad will work better for you. i have seen some slotted discs up on ebay awhile back for stock fitment. as viper said there isnt much you can do to go to a larger disc unless you really get crazy and dish out the cash to do some custom fabbed caliper mounts and source some sort of setup that will fit on the Rx. g'luck
