If you haven't made the conversion to FB front struts, ya can't beat $30

James

already bought the koni's off of classic garage for 30. they are supposed to be nonadjustable but the trick is you have to take the springs off and push the rod in to engage a nut at the bottom and then twist. i decided not to go through the whole conversion process. thanks anyway though. now i need an lsd as even with these sport springs i'm spinning my inside tire in the tighter corners of the autox.

I know exactly what you mean about the LSD. At the autocross in Lexington this weekend, I got beat by my wife with her driving our slow stock 88 Convertible with 200,000+ miles and original suspension (springs atleast). The course there is on a sloped lot, and I was carrying the rear wheel about as bad as the FWD crowd. There were two crossovers with tight twisties hooking it all together. In the end, we got to put in some fun runs, and it amazed me how much differently the vert handled the same turns with its LSD. Me likey! Me wants LSD bad!

Anyway, I have the same Koni's as you are getting and like them a lot. Too much trouble to change the settings though. When am I gonna get you to one of the Louisville or Lexington events? Shouldn't be much if any farther than the drive north of Evansville.

James

my friend shane (vw guy) went with me and loved it. in fact i had trouble keeping up until the last lap when i broke into the 53's using left footed braking on the entire course. anyway, he's from louisville so we're going to try and make one or two up there. right now i'm in the hole though and still have a shitload to do as my car didn't make it all the way home (rusted tank). i have no power above 5.5k, a direct fire system waiting to go in, needs an alignment, tach bounces at idle, steering needs to be tightened, brakes need adjusted as they only engage at 3/4 of the pedal travel, front camber is too small on the lowering springs (although i still could hang the tail out), and i think that will wrap up this month. oh yeah, i have to finish stripping and picking up after the se parts car and have it towed back before my landlady kills me.
