Hesitation...Or something...Ideas?

Ok, just recently, Ive had a whole crap load of stuff start happening with my 7 (flat tire, U-joint going out, fuses blowing for no reason, dome light stopped working, window stopped working, etc...). One of which, is that every now and then, when I step on the gas from no throttle (like when letting the clutch out after a 25MPH corner in second, or taking off from a stoplight slow), the engine will either die, or almost die and then come to life. Its really weird. The first thought I had was a bad mixture, so I messed with that, but nothing. Then I noticed that my tach was being a little jumpy (250-500 RPM jumps every now and then when decelerating, and sometimes when accelerating), so I thought maybe my trailing ignitor is on its way out? I disconnected it, cleaned the terminals, and put it back together, but no difference. Im not sure where to go with this. Any help would be great.

PS - I also noticed that if I just floor the car from a 750 RPM idle (where it idles with no choke), it will bog and die, just like it does like I was talking about above. Also, it has gotten progressivly harder to start hot or cold in the last week or so. It used to fire right up in the morning, no choke or anything, but now I have to choke and sometimes pump the pedal once or so. And now when its hot, wish me luck starting it. I keep thinking mixture, but everything Ive tried isint working...

way off topic, but I spent over an hour photographing a step-by-step install (I won't say what was installed or this thread will vanish), loading the pics into my computer, resizing them, FTPing them to my server, and writing a detailed how to in text accompanied by the photos so that certain members here who needed the info could see it

and like that *poof* - it was gone.

Sorry for the interruption, I just had to vent.

We now return you to this thread, already in progress....

By the way, I noticed my air filter assembly was loose when I was looking under the hood yesterday, so I tightened it up and all my problems seem to have disappeard. I dont know if that was the problem, or if it was just coincidense. Oh well, the problems are gone, so Im happy .
