Question Help whats this mean

So I just invested 400$ in a 82gls and I love it. Since we got it we have put a new clutch and water pump in and have many more plans. This is the new family project.

Well there is this warning light that keeps popping up.
(OVERHEAT EXH SYSTEM)

Does anyone have a clue what this means or were do we start to rectify the problem? This is no were in the manual we have. It is a haines should we invest in some other brand of maual? If so which one?

I am so happy I found this site thanks guys!!!!

look
on the passenger side under the carpet theres a one wire sensor,or connected to the exhaust

dont remember 100% where that sensor is

cut the wire, no more light

or you can drive to your local exhaust shop and ask them to cut out your cat and weld something in its place, id probably go that route

it means your exhaust is overheating. perhaps due to a clogged cat. that or its a malfunctioning light

i'd just ditch the exhaust and get a racing beat system. but i don't have emissions.

Thanks guys. I was thinking in that direction it is helpful to know that my thinker is still working.

By the way is the 12a and 13b exhaust the same or not? My book only shows 13b.

What are the differences between the two exhausts or what repair manual should we invest in? So that both the 13b and 12a are covered. We currently have a Haines. Thanks again.
