Help with Title

Hey guys I bought an Rx-7 the other day, It has a title problem,, I knew this at time of purchase, I still bought it hoping I could find a way to resolve it.....
The situation is I have a Title on the title is the signature of the seller and a signature of the buyer,,, the problem is that I bought the car off of a guy that bought it off of a another guy, the origanal first buyer who's name is on the title never applied for a new title and sold it to the third owner who again never registered it and now I have it
MADE A LIL SIMPLER BELOW

Original owner--- SOLD TO PERSON A< WHO SIGNED TITLE
Person A never applied for new title and sold it to PERSON B
Person B sold it to me

so now I have a title with original owners signature as seller
and Person A as current buyer

Help me guys I hope I can resolve this
oooh I am in florida

Hell, my car doesn't even have a title. I know where I live that once a car is 20+ years old you do not need the title unless you just really want one. If you got a bill of sale from the person you bought it from then you should be able to take that and the title you have down to the tax office and have them issue you one. Or you might just need the bill of sale. Again, I don't really know, but I was asked when I got my tag if I wanted them to issue a new title, but they said it wasn't neccesary. Hope this helps, even a little.

Still in touch with the guy you bought it from? See if he can transfer it to his name, then transfer the title to you. If not, try a title company? There are companies out there that help you get a title for a car that you "lost the title for"...works well for cars that you import from japan as well lol.

Even if you really really really want one they still will not give you one. Ask me how I know.

Now on this guy.

You have a few choices.

1. find the orig owner and get them to sign a lost title form, If your state does that.
2. Get a lost title form, Sign the orig owners name and have the title transfered to you on the form, If your state does that. <- not legal.
3. find the 2nd owner pay for the title to be transfered to them and then have them sign it over to you.
4. Get online and find the DMV website, Find the title office hand book and read it. <- should give you more clues as to what you can do.

Here is what I just had to do with a GA no title car.

If the owner of the car at the time did not sign the titla at the time he bought the car, and there is no signature. You must find the last owner who signed the title to sign it over to you. This is what I have done on countless cars, there is probably another way but this is real easy to do around here cause just about everybody knows everybody.

All they do is give you a bill of sale and the last regestration. NC will not take this at face value and requires that you do what the link in my last post says.

I had something similar happen to me with a motorcycle I bought. I had to contact the legal "owner" of the bike and applied for a duplicate title. Once the "owner" recieves it, you can get the title and transfer it to yourself. Thats how they (DMV) roll in Minnesnowta... all gay and ****.

when you guys say bonded is that what the title companies you guys recommened do....... I check ed out the web site and it says that basically you sell them the car they sell it back to you with registration and a bill of sale and I take that to the DMV and they will apply for the title, and send it to me... I just wrote the original owner a nice letter explaining the situation, aif I do not here from hime than I will use the title service
Thanks Jose Luis Cruz

I don't now about other states but I know that Louisiana has a law that says even though the vehicle is abandoned, the owner has like 100years to claim it. While it is abandoned it is the starts, or something along those lines. You should get the police to run the vin numbers to make sure it wasn't stolen. If they find the original owner they will try and contact them. If they can't reach them then you can get a salvaged title. If they do get ahold of them, just hope they dont try to sell it and make money off of it. lol Now that's somewhat how it works in LA, I don't know all the true details but that is a rough image of what you have to do.

No, The title company just registers the car in their state and then sends you a bill of sale and the last regestration. It is up to you to find out if you state will accept that for a new title. Being that there is already a title in your state for the car then this might not even work.

A title bond is a bond issued by a company that gurantuies that you are telling the truth when you say that you have leagly bought the car.

Or you can do it the easy, screw the title and make it a track car. That's what I would do.
