help with theses pictuers

can someone tell me if this is an s4 engine or an s5 or tell me how to tell the differance

i would say it's a s5 by the looks of the shifter.. but i'm a noob so what do i know =)

usally you dont get the engine that is in the pic you just get any engine that they have so if you want a s4 or s5 better call and specify what you want and tell them how to tell the difference. main thing is s5 has electronic oil meter pump

its an s5 it might be an s4 becaue of the egsaust manifold but i think its an s5 becasue of everything else

S5, no doubt.....plus they say its an 89-91 engine(S5).

The turbo style,OMP electrical plugs and plastic water outlet neck are all S5 clues.

its an S5 engine. you can tell by the electronic oil metering pump. also, if you look at the shift ****, thats a definate S5 piece. i realize that someone can change the **** with a different one, but it still is a good clue. the S4 engines had the standard omp which was controlled by the throttle body and injected the oil amount based on the degree of how much the throttle was open. it just used a rod that connectes to the throttle body.
