HELP! Stock Fuel Pump Direction Question
Hey Guys,
Well, my Mallory Comp 70 died two days ago! It's got less than 10,000km on it and it's JUST out of warranty.
Anyway, I got a replacement (stock) fuel pump from a friend to tie me over and get the car home, but I don't know which of the tubes is "in" and which is "out"
The stock fuel pump is kinda L-shaped. There's one tube going straight into the pump like a straw goes into a pepsi cup. The other tube comes out the side of the body of the pump.
Which one of these is IN and which one is OUT?

So how did I find out?
Everybody yell it with me now
RTFM!
I looked closely at the diagram showing how the lines went from the tank to the carb in the Heynes (or FSM, they have the same diagram)
Lo and behold, there it was.
The answer is:
The one sticking out the side at the bottom of the "L" shape is the "IN" from the fuel filter/tank. The one that looks like a straw in a pepsi cup is the "OUT" to the carb.
Hopefully this will be easy enough to find when someone else needs it!

Does it have a tube cocked sideways?
If so, the hose leading from the filter should go into the sideways inlet., and the other tube would be the exit heading to the motor area.
I just had to deal with the fuel pump the other day myself, and I'm pretty sure that I gave you the right way to do it.
Edit.
Oops, didn't read your last post. Eh, atleast I knew what I was doing for a change.
