Help: Spacer/adapter FB question for the experienced

Well, I posted on the wheels section , with n response so I will try here:
I have access to free Porsche wheels to put on my fb Mariah widebody build - the Ultima car from 1983. Free is good. Actually free is GREAT. Also, turbo porsche rims compliment our cars lines.

Problem is Porsche runs 5 lug wheels with a big offset: +55 or +65 (I think).

My FB bolt pattern is gsl-se upgade 4 x 114.3. I need 10" wide rear and 8" wide front wheels.

I tend to knock spacers but 90% of the custom widebody porsches run pretty big spacers. And these are high dollar, high horsepower cars.

Can I run a 4 to 5 lug adapter/spacer to make up the offset on my FB? Anyone done it? I could figure get the exact offset built into the adapter. Will it be a problem?

I have read threads for most of today and not found a specific answer....

Thanks, cliff

Whats the bolt pattern on the Porsche wheels? You may be able to use the TII 5 lug/big brake conversion from RE-Speed. A little more than your probably looking to spend but you get bigger brakes that will compliment the sweet wheels.

I have been running wheel spacers/adapters I got from wheelspacers.com for several years with no problems. He will build you just about anything you want. I went with 4x114.5 so I could run early honda stuff, easy to find good used wheels. Cost about $300. tho.

Thanks, guys for the response.

Orion84gsl I just installed billy's rack and pinion kit. The big brake kit is another $1K which I am contemplating. It will be a great upgrade though I can get it 5 lug it is still the wrong offset so I will still need a spacer and adapter. The Porsche pattern is 5 x 160 or so, I'll confirm.

Hey, been to London, ontario, went to school in toronto. The weather and salt are tough on rx7's.

Budrud, thanks. One vote for adapters/spacers. I talked to the wheelspacer.com guy and the vote of confidence for him is great. He is local and offered to custom measure for me. But, I will need new spacers after the big brake kit. Thanks, I have made many a trip to bellingham, when I lived in Vancouver. cliff

You know, i will ask billy if he can match the Porsche bolt pattern, then all I need is the spacer....

Our 4 x114.5 , billy can make 5 x 114.5 versus the 5 x 160 for porsche, I believe.
