Hi guys

Ive been searching for the past week with not much luck..

Im after some pictures of the rear taillight panel as shown for a 79-80 rx-7 fitted to the car.

Im wanting to change the rear end to look like the silver car pictured.
However before i waste $175 plus what ever the postage will be to Australia i am wanting to know if the red center panel is the same as the black one that is on the silver S1??

They do look slightly different to me but im just hoping there are some others out there fitted so i can make the decision wether to buy the item or if i need to make one up myself.. (which knowing me will take some time..)

Any help would be absolutly great thanks guys!!

If I remember correctly, that silver 1st gen is actually an FB fitted with SA tails.

Not sure about the FB part as it does have the SA front but havnt seen it in the flesh so i couldnt say..

Any one got anypics of a fitted center taillight garnish for a 79-80 model??

that silver car is a fb fitted with SA tail lights and front bumper, the sun roof on the SA's are smaller if I remember

1980-1985 all had large sunroof's only the 79 model is different in that regard. I believe the panel on the silver car is a custom piece. If you buy the piece you posted you would still need to mold in the top piece to acquire a similar effect as the silver car, or you could just leave it as is. If no one else post pictures of the center piece installed I should be able to get some pictures for you off of my old computer.

Yeah i will be doing some sheet metal work for the top piece so thats not a problem.

I did think the black garnish was custom im just not sure how much different the red one is??
I have noticed that the red one does look a bit tacky as the edges seem sharper.
