Help with oil hunny comb cooler
1984 Base model 12a 1.1 non-turbo
Is there a wrench that can get to the rear bolt on the oil cooler without removing the slave cylinder?
If so can you take a pick so I know what I'm looking for or how to make it.
Has anyone seen a self tapping stud, if so where?
My slave mounting bolts are stripped, surprise and I'm trying to put off removing the trans till I get The RE flywheel clutch etc. I live in a apartment so I have to time my repairs correctly.
Currently there are two bolts holding the slave in one is fully stripped the other has ONE removal left in it then I have to re-tap it.
So in the end I NEED to put new seals in my oil cooler, Its leaking BAD. But I dont want to remove the slave so I can avoid retapping the bolts and dropping the trans
Thanks in advance,
Mike

umm the slave cyl has bolts.. so i dont see u needing to retap anything just buy new bolts.. go to craftsmen and get the star sockets and beat them into the top of the bolt and impact it off its quite easy...
The wrench i use is a 8 or 10 mm mini wrench
i dont remember the size these are the wrenches im talking about.. only thing ive seen work.

when u pull the oil cooler i also found its easier to remove the oil line from the front of the engine and not pull the banjo bolt off if at all possible (its a 23mm socket and in a hard spot to get too)
