Help me strip down my carb to basics

I am currently rebuilding my carb and I want to eliminate as much as possible. I 'm making a block off plate for the altitude compensator, but i want to get rid of the hot start assist motor and any other parts I can get rid of. Can anyone help me?

You live in Ohio, keep the choke and fast idle. Trust me on this one.

Edit: I can send you some pics of my carb if interested. I have almost everything removed on mine. Everything except the secondaries accelerator pump thingy (whatever its called).

whatever. Its the round object that is attached to the front part of the carb on the passenger side. Has 2 screws that hold it to the main body of the carb. Is that better? Dont be a hater man lol.

My bad. There, I corrected it so my illustration shows the main body.

Edit: Which manual is it that you have? seems different from mine.

I got the pic from the carb training manual. Which book are you loking at?

Edit: Never mind. I found I have that PDF too. Too damn many PDF files on the computer. I like your pic better anyway.

The thing I was talking about (in pic - round thingy) is not numbered, but it is the object that screw number 84 is holding to the carb. If you take off the front cover of that object (screws #85), you will see that it resembles the accelerator pump only larger scale. I believe Carl said that it had something to do with the vacuum secondaries. I also believe he said that if it is removed, you have to run mechanical secondaries.

As far as #67, it appears to be the fuel inlet. Not sure though since some of the carb is missing from that pic.

Part of the sub-zero start assist system. Plug it and toss the rest of the system into the parts pile. You'll never need it in Arizona and even if you did it's probably not functioning.

My fav is the Richer valve #92 and the actuator for it #89. I think I know to cut the power to it. If rebuilding what should I do, remove it, plug it, or does it need to stay in?

the easiest way to plug it is to cut the cables that go to the plug (#89), and use that as, well, as a plug!

You can also have a cookie my son, but first you have to identify part # 99!

Can I take the needle out or it have to stay?

#99 is the f-in damper.
