Fiberglass Scooped Hood: Help me find it!! I need yor help!
Hey guys,
I used to have this style hood:
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/135943
It's a Fiberglass 1st Gen Hood, that has TII scoop molded in already. (one piece) The nice thing was that it used all the original factory hardware.
I had it at my mother-in-law's house along with my still-to-be-mounted Mariah mode 1 kit.
When I picked up my widebody kit, I noticed the hood and other small parts were missing. Turns out they were a victim of hurricane Katrina/Wilma last year.
The problem is I bought this hood almost 3 years ago, and I can't remember what site I bought it from. I do remember it was a site that had to do with V8 conversions on RX-7's. I know it wasn't Grannysspeedshop.com though.
Also, it wasn't the CP Racing mold of the scoop either.
I used the Search button here, and I am not having any luck. I am trying to see if you guys can collectively find out where I can get this hood again.
Thanks in advance.
Alex R

that scoop looks exactly the same, if not identicle to the hood scoop that cpracing sells...you could always buy it and fibreglass it in...but I'm assuming that you are looking for a completely fibreglass hood with t2 scoop...?

Sorry DF, no clue where you'd get one of those. Let us know if you find it.
If I had bought one I would have made a thread about it.... maybe you did.. search under your specific username for "hood" and see what you come up with.

Well, I remember a thread that was started a while ago that said there were some on ebay. I really do not know of the quality or if they are still available but you might want to try there.
That one from demonspeed looks like a hunk of junk though...I would not get it.

I can't be absolutely sure, but the demonspeed hood looks like it is centered. And the one on the original post is offset as it would be for the intercooler on a T2 engine.

dj55b & Directfreak: That silver one is on the website of Mariah Motorsports. I e-mailed them one time asking if they sold that kind of hood. They said that they can mold their TII hood scoop into a 1st Gen hood for about $850, I think. I do know that Mariah can do them, but they did mention to speak to Jim in regards of having the hood made. Expensive I know but sounds about right since it is a custom job. I remember seeing that style of hood once on eBay for $400. But that was a long time ago and haven't seen one since.

Those photos on demonspeed's website are pretty pathetic. Not a whole lot of effort put into them. If that is any inidication of the quality of their work, or how they run their business, I'll keep on looking thankyou! Then again, if I see better pics on their site in the near future, maybe they can pick up some points for listening to the input of potential customers. lol.

Tennis, anyone
Hey Alex, did you buy the hood online ? if so you had to use a CC, check your records. CC history. I really don't remember any company producing a 1st gen fibreglass hood with the TII scoope molded in as a one-piece unit and to use all the OEM mounting hardware. Fibreglass trends comes to mind ???

Mariah Custom T-II hood =
OEM Mazda T-II Hood Scoop, OEM Mazda 1st gen Hood, Mariah Fiberglass OEM Style skeleton/frame
Shake and stir with about 20+ hours of body work (bonding, curing, sanding, etc. etc...)
and wal'la!!! a Mariah custom 1st gen T-II hood!

They should make a mold off of yours, and then sell it for 350ish..
