Help me decide whether to buy an SA or FB!!!

Ok sorry Im not that much of a newb but I kind of am...if that makes sense.

Ok im in the process of selling my FC, the guy said he got his check and can cash it on Friday. Im going to be looking at 2 first gens this weekend though.
I had an 83 GS upgraded out the butt from the previous owner, almost everything was upgraded except porting the motor. He said he put almost 10 grand into over a period of almost 20 yrs. I loved that car but it was old and brittle and stuff was just falling apart from wear and tear and I wanted a 2nd Gen.

Anyway back to my point I'm looking at two first gens this weekend since I missed mine so much. One is a 1980 with only 38,000 original miles on it. I think its the LS but im not sure... I cant find out the model/packages for the first gens. It has A/C, sunroof, no rust, garage kept, all stock, red, tan interior looks like tan leather seats too.

The next is a white one 1984 I don't know what model but it has sunroof, a/c, all power ( windows, mirrors ), cruise control, and a rear wiper. I don't know the miles on this or what has been done to it either.

OK so my question is what would you guys get if both had low miles and were both stock at almost the price? the SA or FB and why?

What is the difference between the SA and FB?

I bet FBs are a bit easier to find parts for, especially late year ones.

Also GSL-SE FBs come with 13B motors and are fuel injected, if that's something you want.

There are a lot of different FBs with a lot of different options. Rear disk brakes? LSD? Depends on preference.

Get the SA. Body is crisp and narrow. You can always find parts online or here, if not get a parts car. I did

Thanks yea its not the gsl-se though I know he'd be asking more for it. Really though whats the major differences between SA and FB can't find the thread for that or you can link it to me. Either way i'd appreciate it.

Does anyone from the small descriptions I gave know what models these are? Im assuming the white FB is a GSL and I have no clue about the red SA???

What did you mean parts are harder to find for SA? What parts, body exterior and interior?

Ok so found out the White FB is a GSL. sounds good but idk how much miles are on it or what has been done.

The Red SA im wondering if it the Anniversary edition or not. It has tan interior with tan looks like leather seats... it could just be the GS sunroof version, idk. Im leaning towards the the SA though, 38,000 miles and I kind of like red haha. Ill post again though for sure when I find out more.

In my opinion, if your just buying to drive stock, go with the SA, but if you want to modify it, go with the GSL. You already have a head start with the LSD and rear disc brakes.

I agree. What are your plans for the car? That will make a difference in your choice...

Just as a fun retro car, I would go with the SA with 38000k miles as long as it was in good condition and had no rust. If you are building a track car...

An SA with 38000 is much better than anything else you could be looking at.

Go for the SA! No I'm not biased, really!

The SA is more of a basic sports car. Fewer options, seats are thinner, less comfortable, bumpers and tail lights are different = minor difference in the front fenders and rub strips down the side.

Stock SA exhaust parts are NLA, the ignition system isn't electronic, iirc. The 79s had points, the 80 was a transition year. Also didn't have an oil pressure gauge. The advantages of the FB is the lsd, power mirrors/windows, separate voltmeter, more comfortable seats, better front brakes.

If the money and condition are similar, I'd have to choose the SA. Good ones are getting harder to find and any of the disadvantages can be upgraded with FB parts.

While power mirrors/windows, rear wiper, etc are a nice convenience, none of them are really necessary. The SA is a much true version what the old sports cars were meant to be.

I say SA as well,or maybe you could just tell me where said 38k mile SA is ,so I can "inspect" it for you.

SA's are the best, and these guys are right they are becoming harder, and harder to find in good condition. I really like the early 78 production cars myself. If you can find one of them jump on it. The SA's are really way more simple than teh FB's,and that is why I like them.

Oh my this is a "no brainer" Get the SA... just look at it!!! So simple and pure "old school" japanese beauty!! They are durable cars..drive great, and are a one of a kind.

I have both... My SA looks more classic... my FB looks tough and more "racey"

I absolutely love the interior of the SA. The interior of the FB could be at home either in an RX-7 or a nissan pulsar....they look the same!

I hope you find love for the SA...good luck!
