Well, I do have some cash laying around and I'm getting my annual bonus next week

I say I have taken it this far already... might as well just keep going down the road to insanity. I have always been a believer in if you are going to do something, do it right.

That being said, I am always looking for a bargain. I'm talking with a guy in the for sale section as he has the front bumber and front fenders. If they are in good condition, we can work out a deal. Then I will only need to buy the rear fenders from Mariah.

So far, I'm afraid to count up everything I spent on this car since I bought it last August. I would rough-estimate it to about $15k including the re-speed rack, race rollbar, FD alternator, custom T04E, race seats and back brace, HKS manifold wastegate and BOV, etc which are all on the mail or on order. Plus all the stuff already in it such as the built engine, standalone, FMIC, transmission, wideband, wheels and tires, various re-speed products, and the car and trailer themselves. Why blow half a wad, right?

+1 on the widebody. You've gotten yourself this far into it, a widebody would really set it off.

+1

Gotta love the 70/80's look. I used to own an FC then an FD. Now I have an FB because I love the old school look and beating modern cars.

Pretty much decided that Mode 1 is what I am doing. Just seeing if I can at least pick up some parts used as I want it done right, but I want to save as much as I can doing it. The only piece I have so far is the flying whale tail. I bought it brand new, still in the wrapper from a forum member for $180 shipped. Mariah sells it for $431 plus shipping. I would say I got a good deal. The only problem is the wing and the quality and light weight of the Mariah parts made me want to do the full conversion, so I guess it was not that cheap after all.

Any comments on stripes?
