Help with mating a 12a with a Series 4 13bt gearbox???
Hey ppl
As it says im trying to hook up a 12a to a 13b gearbox in a Series 1 RX7. No w i heard the you need a 13b flywheel and clutch, i have that, good ol stock items. Now ive been told it wont work, i need an aftermarket flywheel and 12a auto counterweight????
Why cant i just smack on the 13b flywheel ??? will it be dangerous or something??
Please help, im supposed to be swapping the flywheels this weekend and i dont wanna undo the nut just to find out i cant do what i want
Cheers

You can't use the 13b flywheel because the counterweights are integrated into the flywheels on our cars. You will throw off the balance of the motor if you do that.
You can get an aftermarket lightweight flywheel built for a 13b, they have no counterweight on them. So all you need to do is find a counterweight from an automatic 12a and you would be in good shape.
