Looks to be the tag on axle housing stipulating it’s a limited slip differential to remind technician to add friction modifier. Found on all 1st gen GSL and SE diff housings. Which do you have?

Does the rear end have the axles installed? You can always measure the spacing between the threaded hes for the wheel bolts to determine if its an SE or GSL rear end. Or remove the differential and inspect the ring gear and count the teeth. Either method would work.

Easier to tell,if axle flanges are threaded,it's a GSL diff. All SE diffs had lug studs, you could still tell it was an SE if studs weren't there. You would see the marks from stud splines in holes of flanges instead of 12mm x 1.5mm threaded holes. No axles, pull chunk and count teeth.

No studs. They are threaded for the bolt type.... I spun the unit and it looks to be in the 4.0 ish gear ratio range...

With that said, I would feel good advising on a GSL rear end as well.

Would those be coarse or fine thread brake lines? I assume I have to change the master cylinder, add proportioning valve, all hard lines, all sift lines and e brake lines... correct?
Thanks again
