Help with fluids
Im gnna flush out my GSL-SE tommorow, and i wanted to get some imput on what kind of fluids to use. Im gnna do oil change, coolant, tranny fluid, and break fluid, hasnt been done in well over a year, i just bought the car the owner before me didnt take care of that (except the oil). I can notice a lack of power, so by doing this i think she will be back to normal, just wanted to know if there is anything in specific i should buy that works well.. thanks guys

After doing research here, I'll be using Red Line MT-90 for the transmission and Red Line 75W-90 gear oil (both synthetic) for the rear end. Expensive, but from what I've read it's the best.

I ran Red Line in my first 7. If you have a real need for synthetic then great. I didn't. In my opinion I wasted a lot of money. I never could tell any difference when I switched.
This time around I'm going with what the manufacturer recommends. As far as gear oil is concerned, I'm not picky with who makes it as long as it meets the spec. I think changing fluids is at the proper interval is far more important than dyno vs. synthetic.

In my opinion (and lets not start and conventional vs. sythetic fights please)
A good quality sythetic oil for the engine
Redline for the tranny and differential as 64mgb said. It will be a lot easier on your 20 year old drivetrain, and keep it alive longer
You live in florida? You won't need more than 10% Anti-freeze mix in your coolant. Add a bottle of Redline Water Wetter, and the rest should be pure de-ionized water
For breaks and clutch use a good DOT 4 fluid.

Just curious.
What is Red Line doing for me in the transmission or differential of a daily driver?
I can't say anything bad about them. After all, I ran a 7 over 200,000 miles with Re Line and no drivetrain problems whatsoever. But, is it *really* worth it if you are not racing the car?

I had a Scratchy 2nd Shift!
Put in the Redline MTD. After about 50miles of driving and going on 6000 miles later. Shifts in all gears like a new Trannie.
I also run there Rear End Oil and Water Wetter.
No more noisy Rear and Temps last Summer dropped 10 Degrees.
I'm sure Royal Purpal is just as good.
But Redline Products are easier to find here in Oregon.

Up here you can get away with 10w-30 most of the time, but I personally run 20w50 in the summer when it's hot (30C+)... And 5w30 in the winter when it's cold (-20Cor lower)
