Hello. trying to find a write up for swapping a gsl-se drive train into a 79 sa. found lots of swap write ups but can't dig one up for my application. if some one could help me find any existing threads or resources it would be greatly appreciated. some specifics: i have a complete 85 gsl-se with a twisted frame and a 79 in great condition with a blown motor. i'm looking to swap almost everything over, brakes (front and rear), suspension, engine (to be carbed), tranny, rear end, steering (if possible). Tried searching for an hour or so, maybe i'm putting in the wrong search criteria, i don"t know. any way, thanks to all in advance.

 

With the 79 brake lines, you have 3 options:
1. Cut the end of pre-81 brake lines, remove the old fitting and flare it with 81+ brake fittings.

2. Transfer everything from the 81+ except for brake booster as the 81+ are larger than pre-81.

3. Buy the lines from mazdatrix. These lines will have the pre-81 female brake lines and 81+ male for brake caliper.
