Help with direction
Help with direction
So I am about to take out a new loan and get ready to start working on the GSL but I cannot decide on whick direction I want to go up to this point I have been gunning for a 13BT swap. But now I look at it and want to keep it as original as possible but squeeze out some extra horse power. I am well aware of how to get that horse power but the 13BT swap still sits in the back of my mind. Please help me decide!!
Sorry I can't help you decide,lol.
That is something that you will have to live with after you make the decision. What you need to focus on is what you really want out of a car when you get done. Once that is determined then you will be able to make the best choice.
As far as taking a loan out to do the project. I advise against it. I would recommend that you put the money away that you would be making for payments. Then when you have enough money saved up, do the complete swap or the upgrades that you decide to do.

If I manage to do my TII swap the way I want to, I'll probably spend an additional 4k, and I have 2 TII engines to rebuild and 2 trannys already. There will be very little in outside labor that I will need to pay for. Keep in mind that the additional hp also needs tiptop suspension, better brakes, larger tires and wheels and a better rearend, depending on hp levels.
I have also spent over 2k in suspension, brakes, tires/wheels and I'm not done yet.
Take a look at the long term goals/useage for your car. Keeping is near stock may be the long term investment you can make in the car.

If it's a project car that doesn't need to run for a few years, in other words, you already have another car, then I can see you going for the swap and doing it right. If it's a car you want to drive NOW then I wouldn't recommend the swap as many time consuming setbacks can/will occure.
I have a car to drive right now and the loan is no big deal I have no problems with having one or paying it. And I do want to drive it now which is also a factor but is the same sense like waysrx7 said its a project and I don't need it to run so I have time to do stuff right. It's so hard to figure out what to do!!!
